DÍAS DE CINE Reading Club is an initiative sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program to promote literature in Spanish in U.S. libraries and universities. The original and entertaining format involves free viewing via the Internet of movie adaptations from literary works included in the program's collection of titles.

The program is offered at no cost to U.S. libraries and universities. To participate, simply register your institution (visit this link), and you will receive an exclusive user password via e-mail. This password will allow you to enjoy, free of charge, a public viewing of the movie of the week via online streaming in you library or university. The only requirements are a computer and Internet connection!
Every two weeks a new movie will be made available for group viewing. Your user password authorizes you to watch that film whenever you desire during that period (including weekends with a maximum of five viewings per movie). This will allow you to plan your reading or viewing group's schedule on the day and hour most suitable to your needs.
An abstract of the film and of the book, on which it is based, is attached in PDF format to facilitate the work of the librarian or professor conducting the viewings. It couldn't be any easier! Simply print the PDF and post it on the library or university bulletin board, or distribute it to group members digitally or in printed form. Add your notes and comments freely if you wish to provide additional information.
Nothing strengthens group solidarity more than sharing experiences together. And that is precisely what DÍAS DE CINE Reading Club offers: an opportunity for members of your community with like interests to meet on a weekly basis, to enjoy a new film as a group, to share in the emotions awakened by these adaptations of literary works and to partake of good company.
