REFORMA boosts libraries in Oregon

Martín Blasco, a Washington County Cooperative Library Services outreach librarian for the Latino and youth services program, will chair the Oregon chapter. Elizabeth Lopez, a librarian with the Hillsboro Public Library, will serve as secretary.

“REFORMA, an affiliate of the American Library Association, provides an official connection between library staff members across the state who work to provide Spanish-language materials to patrons. Representatives from libraries and board members will get together four times a year to network, and share effective methods and future goals to increase Latino and Spanish-language materials; recruit more bilingual and multi-cultural staff members; and host more services and programs that meet needs of different cultures.”
