Irma De La Guardia, a third-grade dual language teacher at Withers, was selected as 2014 Bilingual Education Teacher of the Year.

“De La Guardia began teaching after she and her husband relocated to Dallas from Mexico City nearly 15 years ago. She had been an auditor in Mexico City, but when she arrived here, she entered the DISD Alternative Certification Program.”
