Iowa Spanish teathers attended language conference

Osage High School Spanish teachers Patti Miller and Nathan Liston attended the 2014 Iowa World Language Association Conference (IWLA) recently in Des Moines. The focus was culture as core of the curriculum, helping students to see that there are multiple ways of viewing the world.

“Foreign language teachers were given the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions covering different educational topics that face language teachers today,” Mitchel County Press News. “Students are led to recognize the world that they live in, understand intercultural communication, understanding life from different perspectives, and how to negotiate one's way through this path.”
