Jorge Zepeda Patterson wins Premio Planeta de Novela 2014

The author and journalist is the first Mexican to win the prestigious award, with “Milena o el fémur más bello del mundo”. Spanish journalist Pilar Eyre was a finalist with her novel “Mi color favorito es verde.”

Upon receiving the award, Jorge Zepeda Patterson said that to be the first Mexican is an incentive for the continent. About his novel, said "[it is] a story about everyday life and the human condition” on the case of a group of friends who saved the life of a Croatian prostitute and are faced with an international prostitution network that spans through Australia, Croatia, Ukraine and of course Mexico.

This novel is the continuation of “Los Corruptores” (2013), with more than 40,000 copies sold and translated to French, Polish, Portuguese and Italian.

The winner of the Premio Planeta will receive 601,000 euros and the book will be presented officially to Latin America at the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
