Juan Trejo wins 10th Tusquets Editores de Novela award

The novel “La máquina del porvenir” was awarded for its unfolding narrative and myth-ambition by judges Juan Marsé, Almudena Grandes, Juan Gabriel Vásquez, Ginés Sánchez, andJuan Cerezo.

Juan Trejo (Barcelona, 1970) graduated in philology from the University of Barcelona, was a member of the editorial board of Lateral magazine and codirector of the literary magazine Quimera. Currently teaches at the school of writing exercises l'Ateneo in Barcelona, is a professor at Aula Escola Europea, and writes for La Vanguardia's cultural section.

Trejo's first novel was El fin de la Guerra Fría (The End of the Cold War - 2008), was hailed as "a superb exercise recovery with new tools written sentimentality" (Robert Juan-Cantavella). Some of his stories have been published in The Barcelona Review, and in the anthologies Amor gobal (y otras infamias) (Global Love -and other outrages, 2003) and Crossing Barcelona (2007).
