Isabel Allende to launch “Ripper” in New York

The Chilean author will present her latest novel, “Ripper”, a fast-paced mystery involving a brilliant female teenage detective, Thursday, April 17 at Instituto Cervantes New York. Tickets for this event are sold out.

Isabel Allende won worldwide acclaim when her bestselling first novel The House of the Spirits, was published in 1982, and established her as a feminist force in Latin America’s male-dominated literary world. Since then, she has written about 20 books, which have been translated into more than 35 languages and have sold more than 60 million copies.

Allende has received dozens of international tributes and awards over the last 30 years. Her writings are equally informed by her feminist convictions, her commitment to social justice, and the harsh political realities that shaped her destiny.
