New Spanish Books: The online guide of titles from Spanish publishers and literary agents with rights for translation in the UKNew Spanish Books - Newsletter 2014 Edition

Welcome to the 2014 edition of New Spanish Books (NSB). It is with great excitement that we bring to you the newest titles that the Spanish publishing industry has to offer for translation. A total of 31 Spanish publishers and eight literary agents have submitted 92 books. We invite you to visit our website to learn all about them, their authors, publishers and rights´ holders.

Once again, a panel composed of six outstanding industry experts has made a selection of six books, all of which have something special to add to the UK panorama of literature in translation. This year´s shortlisted titles reflect a variety of themes, characters and settings that promise to pique the interest of editors, agents and translators. The panel had plenty to deliberate!

Also on our website, you can read David Lea´s article (London Review Bookshop) about his love affair with Spanish and Latin American literature, and an interview with Alessandro Gallenzi and Elisabetta Minervini (Alma Books) on their experiences as owners of an independent publishing company in the UK.

We would like to thank the panellists for the time and effort they took thoroughly analysing all the submissions, as well as the translators and readers that have collaborated with us in this edition - their work is invaluable to panellists and publishers.

Finally, we hope you come and see us and the Spanish publishers at the Spanish Pavilion of the London Book Fair. You will find us in stand i505, coordinated by FGEE, Spanish Association of Publishers Guilds, with support of ICEX (España Exportación e Inversiones).
