Cuento de Luz won International Latino Book Awards

The children's book publisher won two first places, two second places and two honorable mentions.

Spanish publisher Cuento de Luz was recognized with four awards and two honorable mentions of the International Latino Book Awards. The ceremony took place last weekt at Instituto Cervantes New York.

The awards received by the children's book publisher are:

Best Children's Picture Book- English

  • First Place: Witches Handbook, Monica Carretero; Cuento de Luz; Spain
  • Second Place: The Word Collector, Sonja Wimmer; Cuento de Luz; Spain

Best Children's Picture Book- Spanish

  • Honorable Mention: Manual de Brujas, Monica Carretero; Cuento de Luz; Spain
  • Honorable Mention: Puede pasarle a cualquiera?, Mar Pavon & Sonja Wimmer; Cuento de Luz; Spain

Best Cover Illustration

  • First Place: Historia de una Cucaracha, Carmen Gil & Sonja Wimmer; Cuento de Luz; Spain
  • Second Place: Cocorina en el Jardin de los Espejos, Mar Pavon and Monica Carretero; Cuento de Luz; Spain

Also, Spanish publisher Combel got two awards:

Best Educational Children's Book- Spanish

  • First Place: Letra a Letra, Angels Navarro; Editorial Combel; Spain

Best Children's Picture Book- Spanish

  • Honorable Mention: Las Mil y una Noches, Lluis Farre and Merce Canals; Editorial Combel; Spain
