Synopsis

An account of uninterrupted flights, this tragic-comedy of a man that observes his native environment without bitterness or regrets, but with a critical distance that will allow him to concoct, from his memories, a kind or requiem to Havana, a swans song to a dying city that, miraculously, remains standing.

La Sombra, Jota Uve, De Chirico, la Garcilasa y el Solenodon viven como cualquiera el acontecer cotidiano de un país incapaz de ofrecerle mejores perspectivas a una juventud que no sucumbe al hastío. El protagonista no sólo huye desde su niñez de la indecorosa tutela paterna —metáfora de la tiranía política que somete a la isla—, sino que se enfrenta a la realidad de ser ciudadano de un lugar saqueado por la codicia y que habrá que dejar atrás. Recuento de fugas ininterrumpidas, esta es la tragicomedia de un hombre que observa su entorno natal sin amargura ni lamentaciones, pero con una distancia crítica que le permite urdir, desde la memoria, una especie de réquiem por La Habana, un canto de cisne por una ciudad moribunda que, milagrosamente, permanece en pie.
