Synopsis
This volume is the inevitably incomplete framework which was going to be Roberto Bolaño’s fourth book of short stories. The basis for these narrative pieces and sketches is some of Bolaño’s latest material, that which he was working on right up until his death. The title under which all these stories come is the same as that of the story that begins: “This story is very simple although it could have been very complicated. Also: it is unfinished, because these kinds of stories do not have an ending”.
Este volumen viene a ser la armadura inevitablemente incompleta del que iba a ser el cuarto libro de relatos de Roberto Bolaño. Las piezas y esbozos narrativos aquí reunidos tienen por base un archivo de texto muy tardío, en el que Bolaño trabajó hasta poco antes de su muerte. Como ya ocurría en Putas asesinas y en El gaucho insufrible, de nuevo se entremezclan aquí, junto a relatos propiamente dichos, textos de naturaleza no narrativa, conforme a la cada vez más acusada tendencia de Bolaño a confundir las fronteras genéricas con el propósito de fecundarlas.
