José Antonio Fideu wins the Minotauro Prize 2016 for the fantasy novel Los últimos años de la magia (The Last Years of Magic)

The meeting and decision of the Jury Panel for the 2016 Minotauro Prize took place on June 20th in Barcelona and the winning entry was Los últimos años de la magia by José Antonio Fideu.

Los últimos años de la magia is a rich and complex novel, with elements of steampunk, in which the author reveals a very credible world that will absorb the reader completely.  A world where magic is real and true, but persecuted by the powerful. The result is an exciting story that also combines journeys and adventure, as these were understood by Jules Verne, and where the reader encounters very well-known characters from legend, but totally reinterpreted in the novel.

The vote of the  Minotauro Prize Jury Panel, comprised this year by the writers Javier Sierra y Manel Loureiro, the Director of the Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival of Catalonia, Ángel Sala, the film producer Adrián Guerra and the Director of Ediciones Minotauro, Marcela Serras, was unanimous.
