The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain hands Awards to the Best Edited Books

The jury evaluated 123 works in the categories of Art, Bibliophile, facsimiles, Children and Youth, and works on General Disclosure. The aim of these awards is to recognize and encourage the works of publishers and book publishing in general.

The awards have no cash prizes, although they are highly valued by publishers, therefore they pose recognition and prestige to editorial works, since the award-winning books will be presented later in the year at the LIBER International Book Fair LIBER (Barcelona, 12-14 October 2016), Frankfurt (19-23 October 2016) and Leipzig (23-26 March 2017). These last two fairs, of century-old bibliophile tradition, will celebrate the  exhibition “Best Book Design From All Over The World” (Best Edited Books in the World), an international contest whose first edition began in the city of Leipzig in 1963, and to which each country sends their winning books.  Following the presentation of books in both German fairs, the works will remain in the German Book and Type Museum in Leipzig as donations.
