Actress Cristina Higueras unveils her “darkest side” on her latest novel.

Her second novel “The stranger from yesterday”, describes investigations on serial crimes involving inter-sexuality.

During Black Novel Week in Gijon, the writer and theatrical producer talked about her latest novel and how aspects of her childhood emerged during the process of writing it.

The idea of writing this plot came up from the process of adapting screenplay by request of a movie producer. This lead up to Higueras writing a fascinating thriller involving homicides inspector Loren Barcelo, her assistant Monica Rojo, and physician Gonzalo Feomorel.

The literary festival also included Scottish writer James Carol and her first novel “Broken Dolls” which featured his well-known character Jefferson Winter which has sold more than 100,000 copies in England.
