Jorge Ordaz was born in Barcelona and lives in Oviedo. He is the author of several fiction books, including Gabinete de ciencias asturales, Prima Donna,

(finalist for the Herralde Prize), Las confeciones de un bibliógrafo, la trilogía filipina" formed by La perla del Oriente (finalist for the Nadal Prize), Perdido eden and El fuego y las cenizas (Asturias Critics Award) or El cazador de dinosaurios.

In non-fiction, La mariposa en el mapa stands out. He has also participated in various collective books, newspapers and cultural magazines and translated English and North American poets.
