Mexican novelist and essayist, Jorge Comensal was born in Mexico City in 1987
Throughout his career he has been editor of the Revista de la Universidad de México and has received scholarships from the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas and the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. He has also been a resident of the Jan Michalski Foundation.
Comensal's texts have appeared in anthologies and magazines such as Gatopardo, Tierra Adentro, Nexos, Este País, The Literary Review and The Paris Review.
In the literary field, he has published both essays and novels. Among the latter are titles such as ‘Las mutaciones’ and ‘Este vacío que hierve.’
